“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” ~Coco Chanel
Hello, there fellow (future) FASHIONISTAS!
This past week I’m asking any and all of my friends and family for suggestions. Particularly on accessories that we all may love. Everyday use, special occasions, you name it, we’re wearing an item that speaks to us.
Accessories can be ANYTHING from the wide variety of
- and so on, etc…
Here was one submitted by my own “ma mère”:
I love them so much that they seem to accumulate in my wardrobe…a lot.
Maybe TOO much.
Almost as much as my jewelry (but that is another blog entry saved for a different day). But in order to be kept from going into a chaotic mess, I have not one but TWO scarf organizers that hang near my window sill. I bought them at “Five Below” down in Wilton, NY. They are a package of 2 for $5!
Here is the link if you would like to see for yourself. 😉
Well, this is a little tutorial that will (hopefully) help you get started on knowing the differences between scarves and start to know how you can incorporate them into your own outfits.
I would like to start with a “little” history on this helpful accessory (I’m a sucker for random knowledge, you NEVER know when it will come in handy!).
Short “History” of the Scarf:
- Also known as a: kremer, neck-wrap or muffler.
- Normally worn around the neck, but additionally they can be seen on the head or around the waistline.
- The scarf became a real fashion accessory by the early 19th century for both men and women. By the middle of the 20th century scarves became one of the most essential and versatile clothing accessories for both men and women.
- Celebrities have often led fashion trends with film props subsequently becoming mainstream fashion items.
Here are some of the types of scarves that women that use them for everyday wear!
- Square scarf:
- Infinity scarf:
- Rectangle scarf:
- Shawl or Wrap:
- Jewelry scarf:

Sidenote: Not on a day to day basis, but when I do think to myself on what to wear, I think: “I feel that I have about all of those kinds of scarves”. In various colors, patterns, you name it.
When at nighttime I do my outfits for work, to school (college, mostly when I was still continuing my education), or out & about with Amos or friends, I add, lastly, complimentary accessories to my outfits, including my scarves (like as if it comes second nature to me).
And here is for those who might have those more alternative styles that you incorporate them as head-wraps:
I haven’t done this for myself (not much to do with my own hair-do BUT that doesn’t mean it is NOT worth a try!).
Well folks, that is a wrap!
(Yeah, I know…I’ve been known for my corny sense of humor). 😉
I would like to give a BIG “Thanks” for those who have gone out of their own way to further continuing reading on and about my love for fashion.
I love the encouragement.
I love the positive feedback!
PLUS I do love my followers!!
See ya next time!
